Building Permits

Building Permits are required for any person within the village or within a one mile radius of the village desiring to construct, repair, enlarge, demolish or relocate any building or dwelling.  Before work can be started, a permit must be obtained and approved by the Village Board of Trustees at their monthly meeting (2nd Wednesday of the month). Please turn in permit to Village clerk by the 15th of the month to be approved by both the Planning Commission and the Village Board.

The Building Permits and Inspections Department is responsible for:

• Conducting building construction inspections
• Issuing building permits
• Reviewing building plans
• Working directly with the Planning and Zoning Commission
